FF Amanda Corson
Amanda grew up in Bar Harbor and moved to Trenton in 1996 after getting married. In 2001 the family moved back to Bar Harbor, but eventually "came back home" in 2009.
Amanda is married to the Fire Chief of the department. Not only is she a mom of 2 teenage children who both attend MDI High School, she is also a full time insurance agent for LS Robinson in Southwest Harbor.
Amanda has always supported the fire department for as long as her husband has been a member by helping out a functions, breakfasts, and behind the scenes, but she finally decided to join the department in 2014 by "jumping in with both feet" and attending the Hancock County Fire Academy, and graduated with her FF1 and FF2 certification. She was also the 2015 class President.
Amanda said she saw a need for more volunteers in all communities and ours was no different. She definitely encourages anyone who has given thought to volunteering to come fill out an application for membership to the department. There's nothing more rewarding than volunteering for your community. You don't need to "jump in with both feet" as Amanda did, but if you have a sincere desire to volunteer, please contact the Chief and get some information.
